Making a Difference Campaign LogoThe University of Rhode Island’s Making a Difference capital campaign came to an historic and successful close on December 31, 2010.  With an original goal of raising $100 million, the campaign finished at an impressive $128 million, having achieved the $100 million goal a full fifteen months earlier.  A true testament to the remarkable loyalty and deep affinity our alumni demonstrate for this fine institution, the results were achieved even in the midst of a severe national economic downturn.

Over 32,000 donors participated in the campaign, each of whom shares in the credit of its success.  The impact of charitable gifts from both our friends and alumni is evident across the entire University community and there is no doubt that the academic experience has been significantly enhanced as a result of their generosity.

The campaign was managed and administered by the URI Foundation beginning January 1, 2008 (shortly following the campaign's October, 2007 public launch), through its December 31, 2010 close.  The campaign’s "silent" leadership phase began in July, 2004, under the direction of URI's Division of Advancement.
