Student Phonathon Program
Students Helping to Raise Awareness & Funds
Each semester the URI Student Phonathon Program employs 30 enthusiastic and hardworking students to reach out to more than 80,000 URI alumni, parents and friends in an effort to increase participation in the Fund for URI. Serving as “student ambassadors,” our student callers provide alumni with the latest information about new programs and initiatives that are occurring all across campus. Most importantly, they also seek to increase support for the Fund for URI, which provides immediate and flexible funding to the programs and people that help to distinguish URI from its peers.
How your Gift Makes a Difference
The URI Phonathon continues to expand by leaps and bounds. During the recently completed fiscal year, the URI Phonathon raised more than $233,000 from over 2,600 alumni and parents. This was a 5.4% increase over the previous year, a testament to the hard work of our student callers, as well as the generosity of our alumni and parents. Thanks to your support, URI is able to continuously improve the educational experience for all students.
A new season of calling began September 21st, so when your caller ID reads “Go Rhody,” pick up the phone and talk to one of our energetic students. You will be interested in what they have to say.
