50th Class Reunion Giving

Campus Pride and Collective Support Highlight Upcoming Class of 1962 Festivities

The University of Rhode Island Class of 1962 will celebrate its 50th reunion on May 19 and 20, 2012. Class members will return to campus to rekindle friendships, partake in long-standing reunion traditions, and leave behind a lasting legacy for the next generation of URI graduates.

The Class of 1962 Reunion Planning Committee is scheduling activities for a festive weekend and they look forward to having you join them for this milestone reunion. The weekend includes a campus bus tour, a special reunion luncheon, and an opportunity to lead the commencement march for the graduating class of 2012 (click here for all reunion weekend details)!

The Class of 1962 Reunion Giving Committee is also hard at work striving to reach its ambitious goal of raising $250,000 from members of the class. The giving committee is asking all class members to please make a gift to the University in honor of the 50th reunion. Your support, as a member of the Class of 1962 will cast an enduring imprint and have a profound impact at URI.

This year, the Giving Committee has earmarked the President’s 21st Century Fund for Excellence as their specially selected giving initiative. Through this fund, President Dooley is able to direct support to various programs and opportunities that are truly transformational in nature and that support his goals of creating a 24/7 learning environment at URI, increasing the prominence of research, scholarship and creative work being done at URI, globalizing the University on many levels, and building a community that supports equity and diversity.

You may designate your gift to the President’s 21st Century Fund for Excellence or to any other designation that you choose -- all gifts made through June 30, 2012 will be counted toward the reunion goal. During the reunion, we look forward to presenting President Dooley with our reunion class gift, representing high participation from the Class of 1962!
