Challenge
grants provide our donors with
the opportunity to double their gifts to
the University's Making a Difference capital
campaign. The following grants offer a dollar-for-dollar
match, significantly increasing the impact
of our donors' contributions.
The Tom and Cathy Ryan Challenge
Grant Tom and Cathy Ryan have
generously funded a $500,000 challenge grant
that will match a gift of $12,500 or more
to establish an endowed, named scholarship
fund for the College of Pharmacy.
The Robert S. Haas Endowed Professorship
in Electrical Engineering Challenge Grant An anonymous donor and former student of
Professor Haas has generously funded a $1
million challenge grant that will match
a gift of $10,000, $25,000, $50,000, or
more, to the Robert S. Haas Endowed Professorship
in Electrical Engineering.
The Alan Shawn Feinstein Challenge
Grant Alan Shawn Feinstein
has generously pledged to fund a $500,000
challenge grant that will match a gift of
$12,500 or more to establish an endowed,
named scholarship fund at URI’s Alan
Shawn Feinstein College of Continuing Education.
The Cynthia and Tom Sculco Challenge
Grant The 1965 graduate and
her husband have pledged $150,000 over five
years to support student scholarships, faculty
development and dean’s initiatives.
Through the pledge, the Sculcos will match
other gifts. The gift is part of the University’s
Making a Difference capital campaign.
