With a $100 million goal, the
University of Rhode Island Making a Difference
campaign is one of the largest currently
being undertaken by a non-profit entity
in Rhode Island.
The campaign seeks to recruit
and retain outstanding faculty, enhance
the student-centered campus experience,
provide undergraduate scholarships and graduate
fellowships, and fund cutting-edge academic
and research initiatives.
The public phase of the campaign
was launched on October 13, 2007.
More than 500 alumni, faculty, staff, and
friends of the University gathered for a
special evening at the Westin Hotel in Providence
to celebrate the success of the Making a
Difference campaign leadership phase and
to launch its public phase. Tom Ryan, ’75,
Hon. ‘99, president and CEO of CVS/Caremark
and chair of the University's Making a Difference
campaign, announced the campaign had raised
$54.1 million in its leadership gift phase.
Giving opportunities are as diverse as
our donors and their interests--and every
gift makes a difference. We invite you to learn
more about the Making a Difference campaign and to participate in the future of the
University of Rhode Island
