| Welcome. Horizons' pages
are created as PDF files (Portable Document Format) using Adobe
Acrobat 3.0.
Downloading and installing Acrobat on your machine will
allow you to access all on-line editions of Horizons.
Adobe PDF is a multiplatform file format that makes it easier
for you to read them on screen and print them out.
Viewing these files requires:
Adobe
Acrobat Reader.
(Click on the above link to download your free Reader software.)
While you can view PDF files from the Web with Adobe Acrobat
Reader 2.0 or 2.1, our files are optimized for Acrobat 3.0.
Acrobat 3.0 displays PDF files within your browser's window
(if you have Netscape 2.0 or later, or Internet Explorer with
the ActiveX plug-in for Acrobat), rather than launching Acrobat
as a separate application. If your browser requests that you
save the files to your hard drive, you may turn of this feature
by following these directions:
- For Netscape: Select Options, then General Preferences,
then the Helper Folder - make sure that the Save To Disk
feature is not marked but rather that the ACROBAT READER
launcher feature is selected
- For Internet Explorer, our PDF files will also display
if you have the Acrobat Plug-in for ActiveX.
(Note Macintosh users: If you are using Netscape 2.0x or previous
browser versions, you will still need to save PDF files to your
hard drive, then open them by launching Acrobat outside of Netscape
before printing.) |
