How can I purchase a boat?
Check out available current inventory
on-line or in person. All listings are
on our website, complete with pictures,
inventory and vessel values. You can visit
the boat yard, located at the URI Bay
Campus, Narragansett, RI. Please check
for hours of operation or call for
an appointment. Download the bid form
from our website and submit completed
form to: Boat Bid, c/o The URI Foundation,
at 79 Upper College Road, Kingston, RI
02881, accompanied with a $200 deposit.
Must I send in a $200 deposit with
my bid and what happens with the deposit
if my bid is not accepted?
A $200 deposit must accompany all bids.
You may bid on any number of boats. If
accepted, the $200 deposit will be applied
toward the purchase price of your boat.
If not accepted, your deposit will be
returned within 10 days.
Are the prices negotiable?
Prices are negotiable. Use the asking
sales price as a guide.
What happens when I send in my
bid?
Upon receipt, bids are reviewed and you
should expect to be contacted within a
few days.
What happens after my bid is accepted?
Make arrangements to sign the purchase
and sales agreement by calling 401.874.5273.
Be prepared to provide a Bank check, money
order, or cash for the balance due at
the closing.
When are Boats available for purchase?
The URI Foundation accepts bids year-round.
May I place a bid for a boat at
any time?
Bids are welcome except for the two week
period preceeding any Boat Sale. Bidding
is closed for those time periods. Bids
are next accepted the Monday following
any Boat Sale.
What kind of boats do you have?
There is a wide array of sailboats and powerboats as well as trailers and engines on occasion.

· What are the Conditions of Sale?
Boats are offered 'AS IS' and 'WHERE
IS' and are always available for inspection
and professional survey. Buyers have 12
days after the accepted bid date to complete
payment and an additional 12 days thereafter
to remove the boat from the yard.
· Do you transport boats after
they are sold?
A professional boat hauler with hydraulic
trailer must move all boats that are not
on trailers. The Boat Donation Manager
must approve removal times.
