Information & Resources for Parents

At URI, Family Matters.

Parents and families are a vital part of the Rhody community. As a proud URI parent, like the Anderson's (above), you can play an integral role in ensuring that students are prepared for success while at URI and after graduating.

Parents also have a long tradition of supporting URI's Annual Fund. A gift of any amount could help pay for a student's books, support the expense of studying abroad, or support competitive travel for a club team - just to name a few of the vital areas the Annual Fund impacts.

One more example of where your support would make an impact is the Students First Fund. The Fund helps URI students, facing an unexpected crisis, tragedy or personal challenge, who are in need of emergency monetary support. Gifts from parents, alumni, students, faculty and staff have already provided vital support to over 66 students since this fund was established just a few years ago. Whether your own child ever faces such a challenge or not, we're proud to make this support available in order to help student's stay on track.

We invite you to become a true Rhody partner and join the community of URI parents who give to support and enhance the academic experience across campus for the benefit of their children and all URI students.

Make an Impact. Make a Gift.

Our Legacy Program

A URI Legacy is a student or alumnus/a who has a parent, guardian, grandparent, child or sibling who is a URI graduate or current student. The URI Alumni Legacy Program recognizes families for their continued generational support, provides networking opportunities, and helps legacies stay connected through special programs and events. Getting Your Student Involved at URI

With over 100 clubs and organizations at URI, there truly is something for everyone. So whether your student has an interest in anything from ballroom dancing to Best Buddies or cycling to art, opportunities exist across campus for anyone looking to become more involved with the URI community.  Two organizations in particular - the Student Philanthropy Council and the Student Alumni Association -  are always welcoming new student members! Both groups provide one of a kind opportunities to gain leadership and networking experience, while creating memories with fellow students that will last a lifetime.

The Foundation also offers employment to students as part of its Student Calling Program.  Click here for more information.
