Student Philanthropy Council
Who we are.
The URI Foundation’s Student Philanthropy Council (SPC) is a diverse and creative group of students who have joined together to help raise awareness about the impact philanthropy has on the entire University community.
The main objectives of the SPC are to educate the student-body and foster a spirit of giving by planning engaging and meaningful awareness and fundraising activities for the campus. The Council’s message is simple: donor support is critical in enhancing the overall learning experience for everyone.
What we do.
Students who serve on the council have the opportunity to plan campus events, work with the annual giving office on various initiatives and meet and network with alumni and others on campus while also enhancing their personal leadership skills. The Council is made up of approximately 40 students and they meet weekly, as a rule.
Any student interested in promoting philanthropy awareness are welcome to join! For more information on the Student Philanthropy Council please contact Joanne Gemma, Assistant Director of Annual Giving at the URI Foundation at 401.874.5514 or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Join the SPC in showing your Rhody spirit during "Philanthropy" days beginning in November with booths in the Memorial Union, Hope, and Butterfield. Events throughout the fall semester are meant to showcase philanthropy and support the Student's First Fund
