50th Class Reunion Giving

Thank you, Class of 1967!

On May 19-21, members of the Class of 1967 returned to Kingston to celebrate their 50th reunion. During the three-day festivities, classmates rekindled friendships while revisiting a flourishing campus.

The weekend was launched on Friday with an insightful visit to the Bay Campus and culminated with a wonderful tradition on Sunday: the 50th reunion class leading the commencement march. One of the highlights of the weekend was the announcement of class giving totals and the presentation of a giant mock check to President Dooley by members of the Reunion Giving Committee. At the time of the check presentation, the class had raised over $275,000.

Now, as a collective effort, the class has raised more than $340,000 in support of numerous programs impacting the entire campus community, and class participation has reached 26 percent. What an achievement!

The URI Foundation would like to thank all classmates who participated in the class giving initiative. You have truly set the bar high for future 50th reunion giving efforts. Your generosity will help create wonderful opportunities for current and future URI students.

The Foundation also extends a heartfelt thank you to members of the reunion committee for organizing a meaningful weekend and a successful giving effort: Andrew Aitken, Brendon Bailey, Richard Boren, Frank N. Caruso, Stephen M. Fortlouis, Linda Larson, Joan Lausier, John M. Nystrom, Peter A. Pelletier, Charles H. Wharton, and David Zartarian.
